7 Ways to be Green

Seven steps to a greener business:

1. Recycle, recycle, recycle!
This one is the most obvious and maybe the easiest... but it is often neglected! Try having labelled containers for recycling at convenient areas in your office (ex: next to the photocopier, in the lunch room). Having separate bins for paper and plastic is an excellent way to avoid having these things put in the garbage!

2. E-mail when possible!
When possible, e-mailing is a much greener alternative to faxing and mailing.

3. Print double-sided documents.
When printing is necessary and it is possible, try printing double-sided. You use half the paper, and you’re on your way to being greener!

4. Use environmentally friendly lightbulbs.
Although they are more expensive, they are much better for the environment and they last much longer.

5. Make sure your taps are off when not in use(not left dripping). One drop per second for one year wastes 10,000 liters of water!

6 .Turn off equipment at the end of the day and when not in use.
This helps to save energy and cut power costs. Also many electronic devices have a power save mode which can help in being environmentally friendly.

7. Use environmentally friendly cleaning products.
